Compliance Settings

The Compliance tab is where you configure communication guardrails for your account. This includes default contact limits, allowed communication windows, and state-level overrides.

Use this section to define the communication rules your organization wants the platform to follow across calls, texts, and emails. These settings help enforce TCPA timing rules and accommodate state-level regulatory variations.

Default Limits

The Default Limits section applies broad communication settings across all states unless a state-specific override is configured.

Available settings include:

  • Calls per Day - Maximum number of call attempts per consumer per day

  • Calls per Week - Maximum number of call attempts per consumer per week

  • Texts per Week - Maximum number of text messages per consumer per week

  • Emails per Week - Maximum number of emails per consumer per week

These limits help define how frequently consumers may be contacted under your default policy. Set conservative global defaults first, then use state overrides only where needed.

Allowed Communication Window

The Allowed Communication Window defines the times during which outbound communication is permitted.

This section includes:

  • Start Time - Earliest time outreach may begin

  • End Time - Latest time outreach may occur

  • Timezone Basis - Which timezone to use for calculating the communication window

The platform supports using either:

  • Consumer's local time - The window is calculated based on the consumer's timezone

  • Agency timezone - The window is calculated based on your organization's timezone

This setting is critical for aligning outreach behavior with TCPA requirements and your organization's communication policy. Confirm whether your organization should use consumer local time or agency timezone based on your compliance guidance.

State Communication Limits

The State Communication Limits section allows your organization to override default settings for individual states.

This is useful when state-level requirements differ from your global communication policy, such as states with stricter contact frequency limits or different calling window rules.

Available Override Controls

For each state, you can configure:

  • Blocked status - Prevent all outbound communication in that state

  • Calls per Day - Override the global calls-per-day limit

  • Calls per Week - Override the global calls-per-week limit

  • Texts per Week - Override the global texts-per-week limit

  • Emails per Week - Override the global emails-per-week limit

  • E-comms per Week - Total electronic communications limit

  • Total Communications - Overall contact limit across all channels

  • Communication Window - Custom start/end times for that state

How Overrides Work

Blank values use the global default settings. This means you only need to fill in fields where a state requires different treatment.

The state-level table makes it possible to:

  • Block outreach entirely in specific states

  • Apply custom limits where state law is stricter than your default policy

  • Set different communication windows for states with unique timing rules

Managing State Overrides

The section supports several workflow tools:

  • Search by state - Quickly find specific states in the table

  • View modified states - Filter to see only states with custom overrides

  • Apply default values in bulk - Reset multiple states to use global defaults

Best Practices

  • Set conservative global defaults first, then add state overrides only where required

  • Review allowed communication windows carefully to ensure TCPA compliance

  • Confirm whether your organization should use consumer local time or agency timezone

  • Audit overrides regularly so state rules remain accurate and current

  • Document the regulatory basis for each state override in your internal policy records

Summary

The Compliance tab gives your team centralized control over communication limits and timing rules. By combining default limits with state-specific overrides, organizations can apply consistent guardrails while adapting where necessary to meet state-level requirements.

Configure your global defaults first, then use the State Communication Limits section to handle exceptions. Review settings regularly to ensure they remain aligned with regulatory requirements and your organization's compliance policies.
